Brook Hollow Golf Club
Historic Registry of Courses
History
Brook Hollow Golf Club is one of Texas’ most historic golf clubs. The golf course originated in 1920 when Dallas businessman, Cameron Buxton, asked his Philadelphia golfing friend, A.W. Tillinghast, to locate, design and construct a golf course in the Dallas area. One of the game’s great Golden Age golf architects, Tillinghast chose a rural setting overlooking a branch of the Trinity River, six miles west of a growing downtown Dallas. A challengingly beautiful golf course was created. Brook Hollow has produced champion golfers, and its members have served the game of golf on state, national and international levels. The club has hosted significant golf championships for more than a century. Tee times are not permitted, and a dynamic caddie program encourages walking golf. Brook Hollow offers a comforting, welcoming elegance, and golf remains foremost in importance.
