The Spirit Golf Association
The Spirit Golf Association consists of kindred spirits who share the mission of promoting amateur golf for philanthropic purposes. SGA Membership consists of individuals, corporations and charitable partners who make an annual contribution to support SGA charitable beneficiaries: The Spirit International Amateur Golf Championship, Houston-Harris County Immunization Registry, Medical Bridges and Baylor College of Medicine Teen Clinic and The Houston Food Bank.

Whispering Pines Golf Club
Located in Trinity, Texas, Whispering Pines Golf Club® is approximately 88 miles north of Houston situated on a spectacular 400-acre property featuring piney woods, creeks, lakes, natural dunes and abundant wildlife. The golf experience at Whispering Pines Golf Club® is truly memorable.
The club is open on a seasonal basis. In season, the club operates Tuesday through Sunday, which provides every guest the best possible guest service and course conditions.
Dedicated to hosting the finest amateur events, Whispering Pines is home to The Spirit International Amateur Golf Championship, a biennial tournament that showcases the best men and women amateur golfers from around the world.
Golf Magazine, Golf Digest, Golfweek, and Links Magazine currently rank Whispering Pines among the "Top 100 Golf Courses in America,” and most recently ranked the #1 Golf Course in Texas by The Dallas Morning News.
2015 Alumni Story with Will Zalatoris
In 2015, Will Zalatoris represented Team USA at The Spirit International Amateur Golf Championship, teaming up with Philip Barbaree on the men’s side and alongside Hannah O’Sullivan and Mariel Galdiano on the women’s team. Together, the four showcased the depth of American amateur golf on a global stage, winning the gold medal and competing against the best from around the world.
